Lead Brunswick's Computer Vision R&D for camera-based ML/AI systems in recreational marine products.
- Lead advanced engineering for captain assistance technologies including blind spot monitoring, swimmer detection, wake surfer fall detection, and obstacle-related perception.
- Developed and led the Brunswick CVML Pipeline, connecting image collection, labeling, storage, training, evaluation, and deployment on edge hardware.
- Currently using that pipeline to develop internal CVML models for the Autonomy team's auto-captain production solution.
- Expanded CV/AI responsibilities into production-process automation for CMap, Brunswick's nautical chart manufacturing company.
- Generated more than 12 IP disclosures, with 2 patents granted.
- Led large-scale Marine Vision dataset and model development work across classification, object detection, pose estimation, and segmentation.
- Mentored and managed more than a dozen engineering research students and collaborated with university and research lab partners including MIT SeaGrant and UMass Lowell.
